The letter is a reply to M to G. Goyder, 29 November 1881 (in this edition as 81-11-29a). Frost has evidently given the incorrect year.
Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 29th November last,
suggesting that a list of the plants collected by the late Deputy Surveyor General
be appended to his journal, and to state, that unfortunately the journals were reprinted
before your letter was received, or the suggestion contained therein, would have been
carried out.

William Christie Gosse died on 12 August 1881 (South Australian advertiser,
13 August 1881, p. 6).
3
Gosse (1874) was a Parliamentary Paper. Reissues are not separately listed in the
Schedule of the papers laid before both houses… from June, 1881 to the end of the
year 1900. Details of a reissue have not been found.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
F. R. C. Frost
pro Surveyor General
Baron Von Mueller
Melbourne.
