It is not clear what M was requesting. He had asked in M to G. Goyder, 13 November 1881 (in this edition as 81-11-13a) that lists of plants be appended to journals of explorations in SA that he understood were to be reissued by the South Australian Government. Goyder in reply told him re-publication of Gosse's journal (Gosse (1874)) only was planned; see G. Goyder to M, 21 November 1881 (in this edition as 81-11-21a).
The Index to [South Australian Parliamentary] Papers laid before both houses and printed petitions, June 1881 - end of year 1900 does not list a reprint of Gosse (1874), and no record can be found in Library catalogues. The entry in the National Library of Australia for a volume Explorations in South Australia, 1857-1882 is an apparently unique assemblage of individually issued reports, accompanied by a typewritten list of the contents, preserved in what is essentially a guard book.
