Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Macrozamia moorei', Gardeners' chronicle, 10 December 1881, p. 758 (B81.12.01). It is introduced by 'Baron von Mueller writes:—'. It is dated to October as the latest likely date that it could have been written to appear in this issue.
The noble , which sometimes attains a height of 20 feet, is the identical one after which Leichhardt named 'Zamia Creek' in 1844,

when the unfortunate explorer discovered that watercourse in the commencement of his great expedition to Port Essington overland. Mr. John Graham Macdonald, well known for his expedition to Carpentaria in 1864,

informs me that from Zamia Creek this Pine-Palm extends through the ranges north-westward for 150 miles; therefore, as I anticipated, this superb plant may be obtained for horticulture from many places, and doubtless an export trade in its stems will soon spring up.
