Wenn immer es möglich, bitte ich mehrere Ex. von solchen Pflanzen zu senden, da 1 oder 2 in der Dissection (für Arten Ermittlung) zu Grunde gehen.

wenn ich die Pflanzen nach dem kürzlichen Exemplar richtig erkenne, und dann eingewandirt! Es ist keine Frucht daran.

Ihr Wohnort muss nahe dem Mt Lofty sein. Giebt es denn noch Baumfarne ( ) nahe dem 3ten Wasserfall (dem höchsten). Die Zahl der südaustr. Moose werden Sie verdoppeln können, da ich nie für längere Zeit selbst an dem vor 30 Jahren wenig zugänglichen Mt. Lofty sammeln konnte. Nur in Nebenszeit kann ich gelegentlich an Acacien arbeiten, u nehme Gruppe nach Gruppe vor, um mehreren Correspondenten gleichzeitig gerecht zu werden. Bei einer Artenzahl von 300 erfordert der Vergleich und die Durcharbeitung Vorsicht u viel Zeit, die gerade nicht immer zu Gebot ist.

Ich schreibe dies in später Nachtstunde und meine Augen versagen mir den Dienst, Cryptogamen zu erkennen. Je Tagsstunden sind der Departements Geschäfte — so viel, dass selten Zeit für Arbeiten dieser Art für befreundete Correspondenten überbleibt.

Beunruhigen Sie sich wegen Ihres Nichterscheinens in der L.S. nicht; ich bin auch noch nie da gewesen, obgleich es 1/4 Jahrhundert her ist, wie mich Sir Will Hooker bat beizutreten.

Vielleicht haben Sie Zeit in den Weihnachtsferien an der Encounter Bay zu sammeln.

Meine ist Ihnen nahe, bei Villunga, wenn nicht etwa durch das beständige Abbrennen der Gebüsche auch diese selten Pflanze zu Grunde ging. Würde ein Villunga Farmer für einen billigen Preis einen Korn-Sack voll der Früchte herbeischaffen, natürlich nicht von B. marginata.

if I recognize the plant from the recent specimen correctly, and then introduced! There is no fruit on it.

Your home must be near Mt Lofty. Are there still tree ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) near the third waterfall (the highest). You will be able to double the number of South Australian mosses, because for a long time I could never collect on Mt Lofty which was less accessible 30 years ago. I can only occasionally work on s in spare time, and take up group after group in order to do justice to several correspondents at the same time. With a species number of 300, the comparison and working through requires care and much time, which is just not always available.

I am writing this in the late night hours and my eyes refuse to do me the service of recognizing cryptogams. Every hour of the day is the Department's business — so much that time rarely remains over for work of this kind for friendly correspondents.

Do not be troubled about your non-appearance at the Linnean Society; I also have never been there, although it is a quarter of a century ago that Sir Will. Hooker asked me to join.

unless perhaps these rare plants are also destroyed by the constant burning of the bush. Would a Villunga farmer collect a corn sack full of the fruits for a cheap price, naturally not of B. marginata.
