Dear Sir
I am delighted to find I have got something at least rare if not new, and I hasten to send all I have yet obtained as they are scarce, besides I have not got any good tubers to them, for all were got nearly the same place on the upper part of elevated quartz-gravel hills — near to where I got 3 other kinds — which I now send — but only able to get the tuber of one (the yellow) I only got the enclosed specimens as yet but may get more elsewhere — This season's tubers were quite immature nearly fluid so I lost them in taking up as the ground is very hard and imbedded with quartz stones.
In conclusion I beg of you not to suppose it was want of courtesy in me not to address you with your well deserved honors. I was not certain & therefore put too little rather than too much
Hoping you may be able to describe the specimens by what I send
