Herewith, dear Miss Walker, I return to you the flowerpaintings, just received here
for naming. The one flower, perhaps a Pultenaea, I cannot recognize. It is in all
such instances well, to preserve & dry the original specimen, from which all the paintings
are made, as it is so easy to do so and allows of dissecting, when the analysis of
the flowers is needed to discriminate between allied species.
The drawings are very pretty, gay and graceful and as general sketches excellent;
of course it will depend on the manner of workmanship in engraving on stone and on
their subsequent coloration, how the plates will finally appear.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
