T. R. Wilson Esqr,
Acting Undersecretary.
Sir
In reference to your memorandum of the 2. Aug.
I have the honor to suggest, that —, if not causing too much inconvenience —, the
balance of £17 18/3d might be expended in purchasing lithographic paper (according
to annexed sample) from some retail-house in London, should the wholesale-firm, which
usually gets the orders from the Agent General, not be able to oblige the Victorian
Government in making up so small a supply. There could be no objection, I presume,
to a slightly raised price, charged by a retail business.
1
See T. Wilson to M, 2 August 1881 (in this edition as 81-08-02a).
2
The Agent General was requested on 15 August 1881 to purchase the paper from retail
sources.
I have the honor to be,
Sir
your obedient servant,
Ferd von Mueller.
