[From the Inspector General of Forests, to Baron Von Müeller, dated the 14th June 1881. In reply,

Brandis is almost certainly replying to M to D. Brandis, 24 April 1881 (in this edition as 81-04-24b).
states that Captain Bailey, the Director of the Forest School at Dehra Dun,

will send him the seeds of Pinus longifolia asked for, and suggests his addressing in future all communications regarding the supply of seeds of Indian forest trees to that officer.]

The register also records that copies of M's letter and this reply, together with 'certain Eucalyptus seeds', were forwarded to the Conservator of Forests, School Circle, North-Western Provinces and Oudh, 'with the suggestion that he should in future undertake the correspondence with Baron Von Müeller on the subject of such seeds', and that Eucalyptus seeds were also 'despatched to the Conservators of Forests of the Central Circle, North-Western Provinces, and of the Punjab for experimental cultivation'.
