Today, dear Prof. Irving, I had again a letter from Herr Fischer of Cassel, concerning
his exhibit of books of scientific value in the Exhibition.
Without wishing to be intrusive, may I ask, whether it is likely that the trustees
will secure this important series, especially as I made on my own responsibility such
a large reduction in the price. I shall have to answer Mr. Fischer's letter by next
mail, so that it would be very pleasing, if I could give him some further information
on the progress of our negotiations.

Regardfully your
