MS found with a specimen of
Calanthe triplicata
(MEL 2258720). Roberts identified as author from the initials and the similarity of
the handwriting to that in other letters from Roberts. MS dated approximately on the
basis of J. Roberts to M, 9 September 1881 and J. Roberts to M, 26 November 1881, in which Roberts refers to a Mr Shaw from Port Denison, Qld, who
had sent him some orchids.
I send also a book of specimens Shaw sent me some time ago and would like you to look over them. I have numbered them and you can let me know by the numbers if anything particular & Shaw would like the names very much
