MS found with a specimen of Lastreopsis hispida (MEL 530850).
Correspondent not further identified; may be the same as 'Mrs Jefferson' who is recorded as presenting seeds to the Botanic Gardens in B69.07.03, or a relative. The settlement of Fernshaw was compulsorily acquired by 1890 to facilitate a water supply scheme for Melbourne; a Jefferson family owned one of the hotels there, but they have not been traced further.
