Euc. gracilis, lieber Herr Tepper, variirt , ich glaube nicht, dass Sie 2 Arten daraus machen können, will aber weitere Examplare von Ihnen vergleichen.

Die Figuren "der Evolution" haben mich belustigt. Ich beneide niemand um seine vermeintliche Abstammung von den Simien, u wie mir Darwin sein Werk selbst schickte, als es vor nahe 20 Jahren erschien, theilte ich ihm u andern Gelehrten sogleich mit, dass ich seine (nur etwas erweitert Lamarck'sche) Idee nicht unterstützen könne.

Sie haben einen neuen Pilz entdeckt, den Pastor Kalchbrenner nach mir nannte; ich hätte Ihnen denselben gern gewidmet, wie ich die Diagnose für die neue Nummer der Fragm drucken liess, aber Kalchbrenner schrieb mir, dass die Akademie von Ungarn seine Abhandlung als bald drucken würde, in welcher dieser Pilz auch vorkommt, so dass ich keine Namens-Änderung vornehmen durfte. Sie sind übrigens als Finder gennant, u für den Verlust in derselben Nummer durch Schoenus Tepperi entschädigt.

Es war bisher aus dem sehr kleinen genus keine Art aus Australien bekannt.

975. Gern hätte ich mehr hiervon, besonders auch reife Frucht später, da dies die voll-entwickelte Pflanze von Geococcus sein mag. Man braucht zur Analyse immer mehrere Exemplare. Sieht übrigens wie aus.

You have discovered a new fungus, which Pastor Kalchbrenner named after me; I should like to have dedicated it to you, when I had the diagnosis printed for the new number of the Fragmenta, but Kalchbrenner wrote to me that the Academy of Hungary would soon print his paper in which this fungus also occurred,

The name muelleri was published in Kalchbrenner & Cooke (1880), p. 3. It was republished in Kalchbrenner (1884), in both Hungarian, p. 3 and Latin, p. 8, citing Kalchbrenner & Cooke (1880).

so that I could not undertake a name change. You are by the way named as discover and compensated for the loss in the same number by .

In B80.08.03, p. 106, M described and also Muelleri, the latter of which he attributed to 'Kalchbr. in litteris', while Tepper was recorded as the discoverer.

Previously there was no species known from Australia of the very small genus .
