Sir,
Knowing that you will not deem it too much trouble to reply to a very poor botanist, I have the honor to forward to you specimen of plant growing in this neighbourhood and to request you to name its order & genus &c.
The specimen has been presented to me by a pupil and I am too weak in botany to classify it myself. We call it parrot's beak from its likeness to one.
Hoping you will excuse this
I have the honor to remain
Sir,
