MS annotation by Hooker: 'A. Baileyi F.M. [&] Baker sent May 14/80'. No baileyi or any other with a species epithet honouring Bailey has been found. However, A. neglectum (Bailey (1881a), pp. 32-3, issued August 1880 (Anonymous (1929)) was collected at Trinity Bay in 1877 and is likely to be the species referred to in this letter. The specimen with M's label received at Kew '5/1880' (K1092780) is almost certainly the fern sent with this letter; M did not supply a name.

some years ago. I have only this one specimen and he has only one other. Would you or Mr Baker be so good to compare it with Extra-Australian species, and let me know the result. Should it be new, you may keep then the specimen, but send me a diagnosis.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
