a very considerable number of extinct animals and added also many species to the recent
Fauna, published partly in the Annals & Magazine of Natural history (since 1840) and
partly in the following works: Synopsis of carboniferous fossils of Ireland, also
of silurian fossils of Ireland, Contributions of British Palaeontology, Prodromus
of palaeontology of Vict., Prodr. of zoology of Victoria; Coauthor with Prof. Sedgwick
in the work on British palaeozoic rocks and fossils.
