At the meeting of the committee on 25 May,
Mr. MacLachlan reported that the spindle-shaped gall sent by Baron Von Mueller, was
probably the work of a cynips, which had perforated the young flower-buds. Some of
the galls contained a larva of a dipterous insect, itself attacked by a parasitic
hymenopterous insect.
