Dr Sir
Will you kindly inform me of the name of the plant of which I enclose a specimen, and whether it may be utilised in any way, or how it may be extirpated. There is a garden here overrun with it so as to smother everything — the ground has been trenched two feet deep without avail as every little bit of the root left in the ground grows. It does not seem to be known to gardeners here. Any information respecting it will oblige
I am Yours Respectfully
