Dear Sir, —
I send a specimen of an
that does not answer to any species described in Hooker's Handbook.
I found it growing abundantly out of the cliffs between Orepuki and the Waiau River.
It grows from 3 to about 7 or 8 feet high, and appears to be confined to the cliffs.
Will you please kindly examine it, and let me know whether it is a new species or
only a variety of one of the known species?
