Zunächst besten Dank für die Samen der Ac. notabilis, lieber Herr Tepper.
Es wäre gut, mit Sicherheit festzustellen, welche Eucalypte bei Ihnen Wasser aus der Wurzel quillen lässt, wenn dies überhaupt dort der Fall ist. Die Blätter von

Search for Posidonia in

sind nicht nur breiter, sondern auch länger, als die der
Cymodocea

Search for Cymodocea in

, die Meer-Pflanze mit dem 3/16 Zoll breiten Blatt wird wohl Zostera Tasmanica, Martens, sein, welche auch stumpfe (nicht ausgerundete) Blätter hat.
Sie werden dann dort auf salzigem überfluthete Schlamm auch Z Muelleri finden, welche ganz kurz- u schmal-blättrig ist. Die Früchte sind der Basis der Blätter eingesenkt.
Da Ihre Pflanzen Liste von der philos. Gesellschaft in Adelaide gedruckt werden wird, ist es wohl nicht gut möglich diese Pflanzen aufs Neue in der Linné-Gesellschaft zu behandeln. Schicken Sie lieber an diese einige allgemeine Notizen über die dortige Thierwelt.
Auch für die Basis eines Schulbuches eignen sich Ihre localen Erfahrungen nur theilweise ; Sie müssten die Bergvegetation u die der ostl. Districte doch mit behandeln, was Ihnen im Laufe der Zeit gelingen mag.

It would be good to establish with certainty which eucalypt near you lets water flow from the root if this is really the case there. The leaves of Posidonia are not only wider but also longer that those of
Cymodocea

Search for Cymodocea in

; the marine plant with the 3/16 inch wide leaf will probably be
Zostera tasmanica

Search for Zostera tasmanica in

Martens, which also has blunt (not hollowed-out) leaves.
You will then also find there on salty flooded mud Z. muelleri, which is quite short- and narrow-leafed. The fruits are sunk in the leaf bases.
As your plant list will be printed by the Philosophical Society in Adelaide, it is probably not possible to treat these plants anew in the Linnean Society. Preferably send some general notes about the local animal kingdom to it.
Also your local experience is only partly useful for the basis of a school book; you must deal with the hill vegetation and that of the eastern districts as well, in which you may be successful in the course of time.
