We have received the following communication from Baron von Mueller. Any settler desiring of furthering the enthusiastic Baron's efforts is at liberty to forward any contributions to the Inquirer office, whence they would be forwarded to Melbourne by the first mail :
The letter is dated to January 1880 as the latest date that it could have been sent to have been included in this issue. A similar letter, in this edition as 80-01-00a, was sent to the Editor of the West Australian, where it was printed with the text of M's circular (in this edition as 76-04-00).
You will have seen the first decades of my eucalyptus .

Eucalyptographia; the first decades were published from July to December 1879, B79.13.11.
As I wish to extend the work also to all Western Australian species, your widely circulating journal might help me by a request to such of your colonists as reside in remote localities to forward to me dried sprigs in bud, flower, and ripe fruit of all the eucalyptus of their district, the shrubby species included. Notes on height, bark, timbers, native names, soil, habit, gum (kino), &c., I would enhance the value of the specimens. Every sender will get full credit for the help afforded.
