The urgency implied in the address on the envelope is consistent with the two cases being shipped per the cargo barque Glaslyn being projected to sailing that day for Port Louis, although not cleared out until 22 December ('Shipping intelligence': Argus, 18 December 1879, p. 4 and Argus, 23 December 1879, p. 4).
