It is possible that the register has used 'seeds' when the most relevant letters refer to 'seedlings' being brought for Mauritius. See M to G. Berry, 15 December 1879 and M to G. Berry, 18 December 1879. These were evidently shipped together on 19 December, the date of the bill of lading reporting two cases were shipped (M to W Odgers, 19 December 1879) consistent with the projected sailing that day of the cargo bargue Glaslyn for Port Louis, although not cleared out until 22 December (Argus, 'Shipping intelligence', 18 December 1879, p. 4; Argus, 23 December 1879, p. 4).
