It is now more than 20 years ago, dear Mr Shillinglaw, that the
notice of Rob Brown
occurred in the Gardeners chronicle from Sir Joseph Hooker, indeed it was in 1858.
If after so long a time I can find the number, I will send it to you. As you have
the splendid lithogram of R Brown the poor little woodcut
seems to me of no earthly use to you; but I can supplement the biographic notes of
Hooker.

at the time was John Lindley.
