You will know from your own experience, dear Mr Dyer, that it is not easy to remember in all instances, where a note of any particular plant may occur, & thus I could not recollect the observations made concerning .

My attention all along was of course more fixed on extratropical than intratropical plants, and since I left the garden I had never any proper accomodation and help to keep the multitude of publications accessible. Hence my forgetting the fact of the Ceara-Rubber,

Manihot glaziovii is a source of natural latex and is known as the Ceara Rubber Tree. M did not have an entry for this species in B81.13.10, but there is an entry in B84.13.22 and a longer one in B85.13.26, each under Manihot Glazioui (sic).
and my thankfulness to you of reminding me of this. It is pardonable, when I loose sight of things like this, as my attention is diverted in so many directions, not only phytographical, but chemical, medical, technological, palaeontological &c and I am also expected to keep up my knowledge on the progress of Austr [geography]
