To
Baron von Mueller
Melbourne.
Dear Sir,
You have so kindly answered my previous letters and enquiries, so I trust I may further
trouble you.

See C. Barber to M, 29 June 1879.
I now send you a parasite that grows on brigalow and Currajong, in dence scrubs here,
I have never seen it but in the one place, & have showed it to several people but
no one knew it. You will see the feelers that act as roots run in the cracks of the
bark. And when the round spike like leaves touch another part of the bark or another
tree, they turn to roots like what you see. I never saw a flower on it, or fruit
The enclosed moss is very common in the dence scrubs here, and grows from the bottom
to the very top and end of every branch on all trees alike.
I have seen no orchids here lately but will send you some about Xmas time and when
I find moss in fruit will send it
Thanking you for your kindness, and trusting I am not too much trouble
I am
Yours faithfully
Charles D. Barber
