Without wishing to be intrusive or immodest, dear Sir Joseph, I like to ask, whether a fragment of could be spared at Kew? It is of course important, that I should have for the "Atlas"

B79.13.11 etc.
every described species, to refer to. We have still much to learn regarding the Eucalypts, and I like to make their knowledge on my part as extensive & as complete as I can.
2
MS annotation by [Hooker?]: 'Sept. 2. 79 Prof Oliver [and] Sept. 3 [Letter not found]. Enclosed [Olivers] note to the effect that none of the specimens cd. be spared.'
Regardfully always your
Ferd. von Mueller.
Other species, not represented in the Museum-collections here, are: E. tectifica,

tectifica is marked in the central margin with a cross.
E. patellaris, E. orbifolia; E. fibrosa and not a single specimen can I find of E. siderophloia; perhaps they are mislaid, or could they have accidentally all have remained at Kew?

The comment 'remained at Kew' refers to the transmission of the Eucalypts to Kew by M for the preparation of Flora australiensis.
There is a vertical line and 'found by Mueller', apparently by Hooker, in the central margin next to `E. siderophloia . . . Kew?'. See M to W. Thiselton-Dyer, 24 December 1879, in which M announces that he has found specimens of E. siderophloia.
