Herewith, dear Professor DeCandolle, I beg to send you a few fragments of Euc. dealbata, with a view of learning from you, whether this is the true E. pallens of your illustrious father.

It agrees in most parts with the diagnosis in the prodromus III, 219,

but the peduncles are usually short. Perhaps you will be so kind to compare the original specimen of Sieber in your herbarium, as I am eager to restore the name E. pallens D.C. by priority for this tree. Let me hope, that you received the various publications, free pr. post, which I sent from time to time.
