Dudley Adams has not been found in the NSW medical register for 1879 (NSW Government Gazette, 11 December 1879, pp. 5473-84) and he has not been further identified.
of Sydney, writes that he is informed by Dr. Lane, a medical gentleman in Carolina, that in one of the towns of that State 6000 trees of eucalyptus globulus were planted, after which the fever slowly but surely disappeared, which formerly at certain seasons rendered the place almost uninhabitable. In many parts of North America also the eucalypts were originally introduced by Baron Von Mueller in exchange for the noble North American pines now surrounding also our metropolis and contributing to its salubrity.]
