Sir,
I have been requested by the Surveyor General, who has hastily left Town for a very short time, to forward you herewith a small quantity of a weed said to be very poisonous and 200 sheep in one locality have died from the effects of eating it.
The Surveyor General would feel very much obliged if you would kindly give him the name of the plant and any other information concerning it in your power — copy of letter received with plant enclosed.
