No record has been kept of where MS was found, but it was almost certainly with a
specimen of Calectasia intermedia (MEL 2064052) collected by D’Alton at Rose’s Gap in the Grampians, Vic, in October
1878. MS annotation by M: 'Closed against inspection'.

To The Baron von Müeller
My Dear Sir
After a long silence I again venture to take the liberty of forwarding a few specimens
of plants for nomenclature
I have ever since being so confined to the office that I had not an opportunity of
going into the country till the other day when I gathered some of those I send you.
I trust that the Government have thought better to improve your position and acscede
to your wishes, as I saw something about it in the papers not very long ago. Hoping
that you are in the enjoyment of good health
I have the honour
to remain dear Sir
your obedient Servant
St Eloy D'Alton
