Baron Ferdinand v. Muller
Melbourne.
Sir,
On my ramble through the bush in the vicinity of Brisbane I came across a Tecoma, of which I take the pleasure to enclose a branch and some flowers. I dont think ever have seen anything like it before; the leaf resembles a good deal to Tecoma— leafs very glossy and never more then 5 leafletts together. It is a free blooming creeper; the labium of the carolla is of a flesh collor, the venes being purplish — the inner ground centre of the flower is dark purple. As the plant is not abundant I take the liberty to apply to your authority to ascertain if it is a Novelty — or not — if yes — please to call it T. Stuarti,
