My dear Sir
Let me hope that long before this can reach you that you will have recovered from
your sad sickness. I have just received a letter from the Palmer
stating that the lemon scented Ironbark is not yet in flower but that as soon as
it does flower I shall receive some specimens which I shall of course send to you
I send by todays post a few either new things or new for habitats
hoping to hear soon your obliged

In his notebook (Notebook, Colonial Botanist, Queensland Herbarium, Brisbane), Bailey recorded under this date, ‘Baron Mueller sent specimens of a new form of Daviesia corymbosa Sm or a new species
from Eight Mile Plane [Qld] Also Acacia hispidula Willd. & Notelaea ovata from same
place’.
