with the accompanying Volume on Select Plants,

and to inform you that the new line of road between St Kilda and Sandridge,
3
Port Melbourne.
has been marked out on the ground along the shores of the Bay, about 1½ to 2 ½ chains outside of high water mark.
If you could conveniently make an examination of the ground, you will be in a position to form an opinion respecting the nature of the soil, stagnant water &c. in relation to the subject of plantings.
The line of road is well defined by pegs along the outside and centre lines, consequently there should be no difficulty in following it.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
Secretary for Lands.
