In reply to your telegram just received
I have the honor to inform you, that out of the very small votes granted to the Gov.
Botanists Department for this year no savings could possibly be effected, indeed the
sums available not even being sufficient to carry on the lithographic work for the
Eucalyptus Atlas,
nor the Laboratory operations, nor several other obligations, which I was anxious
to have carried out this year.
