Sir,
I have the honor to inform you, that I am required to proceed with the Commissioners
to enquire into the Wattle question for the next two weeks in Gippsland, and that
accordingly I shall start early to morrow.
Any communications will reach me in Gippsland, as I shall be able to obtain my letters
from time to time during the journey.

The Commissioners departed by train 'at daybreak', made a brief examination of some
tracts of bushland at Warragul, and arrived at Sale about midday (Age, 1 April, 1878,
p. 3).
