You are so much interested yourself in the Eucalypts of Q.L.,
dear Mr Bailey, that I have no hesitation to ask you a question more about them,
and solicit your aid in elucidating an other obscure species.

See also M to F. Bailey, 15 March 1878 (in this edition as 78-03-15b).
I allude to the "Yellow Jacket" of the Paroo.
It is not a tall tree, seldom over 40 feet high, but has a remarkable yellow or brownish
smooth bark Very possibly it is a described species, but as the vernacular has got
a wide circulation, it would be well to trace it to its species.

Paroo River, Qld.
There ought to be no difficulty to find out in Brisbane the adress of an intelligent
& obliging squatter, willing to send us flowering & fruiting specimens
Regardfully
Ferd von Mueller
It is a smooth-barked tree, hence it cannot be a state of E. resinifera.
