My Dear sir
I regret that I have been unable until today to obtain fruit of the which I send you herewith, the fruit I find has all fallen from the plants but the seed is still within the pericarps in most cases, I send you some from two different plants my reason for doing being that the pericarps appeared to me to differ slightly in shape you will also find a fragment of foliage from each plant. In the course of two or three weeks I hope to have the pleasure of sending you a collection of water plants from Murray river and adjacent lagoons. If the specimens of fruit now sent will not answer your purpose will be happy to send you some next season in various stages wiching
