22/1/78.
Be so kind to tell me, dear Mr Ramsay, from whence the plant came, of which you sent a fragment.

See postscript to E. Ramsay to M, 15 January 1878.
It will facilitate fixing its name, especially in the absense of even young fruit. Any how I cannot leave my arrear-work until after the despatch of the next English mail. I am delighted at the prospects of getting more palms from the north, — let the flowers & fruits in each instance be carefully packed together with the leaves.
When is the Rev Mr Lawes leaving for Melbourne
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller
