In reply to your letter of the 26th
instant wherein you apply to become a naturalised British Subject in this Colony
I am directed by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor to inform you and at the same
time to express his regret that under the conditions of the Naturalisation Act 35
Victoria No. 2 he is unable to entertain your application in as much as it does not
appear that you have come to reside in the Colony with the intention of settling therein.
