Hochverehrter Herr Stiftsgenosse!
Die ergebenst unterzeichnete Verwaltung beehrt sich, Ihnen hierdurch anzuzeigen, dass Sie, in der am 28. Weinmonates d. J., zum Zwecke der satzungsgemässen Erneuerung der Verwaltung, abgehaltenen ausserordentlichen Sitzung des F. D. H.
zum Stiftsrathe (nach Satz 38 u. 40) für das Jahr 1877/78 ernannt worden sind. Wir bitten Sie um freundlich dienstwillige Annahme dieses Ehrenamtes und erlauben uns, Ihnen mitzutheilen, dass in herkömmlicher Weise die regelmässigen Sitzungen der Verwaltung im Goethehause an jedem Montag Abends 8 Uhr stattfinden, wozu, ausser dieser Benachrichtigung, keine besondere Einladung erfolgt.
Die auswärtigen Herrn Stiftsräthe sind selbstverständlich nur dann verpflichtet, diesen Sitzungen beizuwohnen, wenn Dieselben sich besuchsweise in Frankfurt aufhalten. Im Uebrigen werden Dieselben nur für besondere Fälle schriftlich um ihren gütigen Rath oder ihre sonstige Mitwirkung in Anspruch genommen, wozu sich, bei der Verbreitung unserer Stiftsgenossenschaft über alle Deutschen Lande und auch in der Fremde und bei der weiten Aufgabe unserer Wirksamkeit, so mannigfache Gelegenheit darbietet, dass das Amt eines auswärtigen Stiftsrathes keineswegs eine leere Form, sondern für das Bestehen und Gedeihen des F. D. H. von wesentlichster Bedeutung ist. Auch sehen wir Ihren gefälligen Anregungen und Anträgen zur Förderung der Zwecke unserer Körperschaft sowohl im Allgemeinen, als insbesondere in Ihrem näheren Gebiete, hoffnungsvoll entgegen und sichern denselben die Vorlage und ernsteste Erwägung in den Verwaltungs-Sitzungen, sowie geeignetenfalls in den ordentlichen Hochstifts-Sitzungen, hierdurch im Voraus in bündigster Weise zu.
Wir bitten Sie angelegentlich Namens der ganzen Stiftsgenossenschaft, das Ihnen durch deren Vertrauen angetragene Ehrenamt in diesem Sinne gütigst auffassen und ausüben zu wollen!
Eingeführter Uebung gemäss ersuchen wir Sie auch, Ihrer Unterschrift, zu Ehren unserer Stiftung, den Zusatz "d. z. Stiftsrath des F. D. H." beifügen zu wollen.

The most humble undersigned administration is honoured to hereby report that in the extraordinary meeting of the F.D.H. held on 28 Winemonth

i.e. October.
this year for the purpose of renewing the administration according to the statutes, you have been appointed as Councillor (according to paragraph 38 and 40) for the year 1877/78. We request you to be kindly willing to accept this honorary office and permit ourselves to inform you that traditionally the regular meetings of the administration take place in the Goethe House on each Monday evening at 8, for which, except this notification, no particular invitation ensues.
The foreign members of the council are of course only obliged to attend these meetings if they are staying in Frankfurt on a visit. However, they are made use of only for particular cases by letter for their kind advice or their involvement otherwise, for which such manifold opportunity offers, in the distribution of our fellow members over all German countries and even overseas and with the wide task of our operation, that the office of a foreign councillor is in no way an empty form but is of essential importance for the existence and success of the F.D.H. Also full of hope, we look forward to your kind ideas and applications to the promotion of the objects of our body both in general as well as in particular in your nearer field and hereby, in advance, in a most succinct manner promise their presentation and most serious consideration in the administrative meetings, as well as, if appropriate, in the ordinary meetings of the Academy.
We ask you ernestly in the name of the whole membership to be willing to kindly take and hold the honorary office in this sense offered to you by its trust.
In accordance with established practice we also ask you to be willing to add to your signature, to honour our Academy, the addition "at present Councillor of the F. D. H."
