Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Home Correspondence', Gardeners' chronicle, 3 November 1877, p. 565 (B77.11.01). It is headed 'Cinchona in Australia'. The letter is dated to late September as the latest likely date for it to have been written and included in this issue. See G. Robinson to M, 16 August 1877.
Since April last has been continually flowering at Berwick (38° S,), near Port Philip — plants raised by me and given to a local intelligent settler, Mr. Robinson. It has thrice braved mild frosts. We have much warmer regions in East Gippsland.
