It seems, dear Mr Odgers, that Mr Ferres cannot proceed with the binding of the bot
school-book,
until he learns, that the sample of binding, as shown by the proof-copy (forwarded
to your office) meets with ministerial approval. I am very eager, that the little
work in the interest of my Department should soon appear. Is it in your power to expedite
the matter.

On 12 July Odgers minuted the Secretary for Education: 'Perhaps Mr Venables wd enable
me to deal with this Memo. The Chief Secretary thought the linen binding very suitable.'
Venables replied on 17 July that he thought 'the binding very suitable', and Odgers
forwarded the message to M.
Regardfully
Ferd. von Mueller.
