In reply to your inquiry of the 17th instant
whether the Chief Secretary would allow the sum of £900 voted for "Extension and
other works, Botanical Museum" to be expended on a new building on new ground, I am
directed to state that Mr MacPherson has already decided that the Vote is to be used
in making additions to the present building.
