The honorable John Macpherson, M.P.,
Chief Secretary &c.
Sir,
I have the honor to enquire, whether you would kindly allow the sum of £900, voted
on this year's estimate for extension and
other works
, bot. Museum,
including fittings & furniture, to be expended on a new building on new ground, the
wording of the vote not rendering it imperative to devote the sum to the present Museum
Building or its extension.
1
See M to J. MacPherson, 13 April 1876.
2
On 22 February 1877, MacPherson noted that he had 'already decided that the money
should be expended in adding to the present building'. The decision was communicated
to M in W. Odgers to M, 23 February 1877.
I have the honor to be, Sir,
Your obedient
Ferd. von Mueller.
