539) of the details entered in the appropriate spaces. The Government Audit Office
had written to Odgers on 30 December 1876, seeking an answer to an earlier question
sent on 5 October, as to whether the Chief Secretary had approved the appointments
of Luehmann and C. A. Groener to positions in the Government Botanist's Office (L77/55,
unit 923, VPRS 3991/P inward registered correspondence, VA 860 Chief Secretary's Department,
Public Record Office, Victoria).

I have the honor to inform you that the Governor in Council has been pleased to appoint
J. G. Luehmann to the office of Clerk (unclassified) Museum in the Govt. Botanist's Department, at the salary of £150-0-0 per annum, from 1st July 1876.
