E. Giles (1876), published as Parliamentary Paper no. 18* for 1876 session. It was evidently this set that was acknowledged in M to [G. Goyder], 31 January 1877 (in this edition as 77-01-31a). The National Library of Australia copy of 'Map of explorations undertaken by direction and at the expense of T. Elder under the command of Ernest Gile s : from Beltana Station in the colony of South Australia to the city of Perth in the colony of Western Australia ' is digitised at https://nla.gov.au / nla.obj-2321 3 3792 . The version published in Petermann's geographische Mittheilungen. Jahrgang 1876, Tafel 10, is also digitized: http://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-232434 0 92 .
In M to A. Petermann, 18 January 1877, M alerted Petermann that he would 'receive the last map and the journal of Giles with this post. They have just been published in Adelaide at Mr Elder's request' (as a Parliamentary paper, Giles (1876)). There was an essay review of Giles's journals, including E. Giles (1876), in Argus, 23 January, pp. 5-6, confirming that it was available in January 1877.
