My dear Doctor,
I forward by this mail another copy of my lecture.
3
Woolls (1876).
Do you wish me to notice the second part of the School Flora, or to wait for the completion of the volume?
4
M's proposed School Flora was aborted by the Chief Secretary; see Lucas et. al. (2009), pp. 37-9, and notes to M to J. MacPherson, 21 March 1876. M had evidently been sending sections to Woolls as they were printed, as he had been doing to Joseph Hooker at Kew, for Woolls had anonymously published a review of the work 'now being printed' (Sydney morning herald, 15 September 1876, p. 5).
We have very few of the plants near Richmond, but many of them occur at the Kurrajong.
I send you the flower of
5
Passiflora cinnabarina?
from the Kurrajong. The berry differs from the others in being obtusely 3 angled.
The here has uniformly leaves similar to that enclosed I send you from the Namoi
Danthonia pallida ,
Will you kindly tell me if you can from the enclosed imperfect specimen whether the Poa is P. pratensis , or a native Poa.
Yours very sincerely
W. Woolls
