W.H. Odgers Esqr
Undersecretary.
Sir.
In continuation of a former communication
I have the honor to suggest, that the £100 for publication of plants on this year's
estimates
may be placed at disposal for printing either by tender or at the Gov. Printing office
my "industrial plants" from the four volumes of the Acclimation Society
in a rearranged and connected form with supplements. This publication would be the
most important, which at this moment can be brought out in my Department for the industrial
vegetable resources of the colony.
1
See M to J. MacPherson, 29 July 1876.
2
The £100 had been intended as the Victorian Government's contribution to a further
volume of Flora australiensis, but was no longer required for this purpose when Bentham decided that vol. 7 would
be the last in the series.
3
B71.06.02, B72.13.02, B74.13.06, B75.07.06.
4
The Chief Secretary, J. MacPherson, minuted his approval on 11 September and the work
was published as B76.13.03.
I have the honor to be, Sir,
your obedient
Ferd. von Mueller.
