I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 24. inst.
in reference to the invoice of seeds, just arrived by the "Somersetshire"; and beg
to suggest, that the cases may be deposited in the Governm Stores-Building, until
my propositions in reference to the utilisation of these seeds shall have received
the consideration of the hon. the Chief Secretary, and his directions about their
disposal shall have been obtained.

The seeds had been imported to try to stabilize drifting sand between Port Fairy and
Warrnambool, see M to R. Ramsay, 28 June 1875; M to W. Odgers, 29 September 1875; and Heathcote & Maroske (1996).
