I have the honor to inform you, that I have asked the Warnambool
Towncouncil to send me some of the seeds of the sandreeds, recently imported by the
Government,
and as I have obtained some lb
I would beg to suggest, that a portion may be placed at the disposal of the hon.
member for Sandridge
with a view of being disseminated on the coast-sands there, perhaps through the action
of the local Municipality. If this proposition meets with your approval, I can forward
the seeds any moment to your office.

On 11 August 1876 the Under Secretary, W. Odgers, following MacPherson's direction
that the seeds be forwarded 'to the Mayor', minuted: 'The Government Botanist is requested
to be good enough to transmit them direct pursuant to above instructions.' M replied
on 14 August: 'Seeds transmitted as requested'.
